Commercial Van & Truck Upfitting in Lansing, MI
US Workvan has been Lansing’s go-to source for commercial van shelving, truck storage, and upfitting services since 2004. We’re locally owned, we stock the products, and we do the installs in-house. There are no middlemen and no shipping your vehicle across the state, just quality products and professional installation done right.
Lansing’s Local Commercial Van & Truck Upfitter
We’ve been upfitting work vans and trucks for Mid-Michigan contractors, businesses, and fleet operators since we opened our doors in Lansing in 2004. Owner Nick Hassel runs the shop day to day and puts the same care into every vehicle that comes through the door. That might be cargo van shelving for a solo electrician or truck storage systems for a municipal fleet. We’re a Certified Adrian Steel Installer and a 2026 Legend Upfit of the Year Finalist. Our team brings over 35 years of combined experience to every job.
Van Shelving & Truck Storage for Lansing’s Trades & Contractors
If your crew is wasting time digging through an unorganized van or searching a cluttered truck bed, it’s hurting your bottom line. You need to know where your tools and parts are, and you need them protected from damage and theft.
For vans, we install van shelving and interior storage systems from Adrian Steel, Ranger Design, Sortimo, and Weather Guard. That includes shelving units, drawer systems, bin organizers, partitions, and pipe and PVC storage that put everything exactly where your crew needs it.
For truck operators, we install truck bed storage and truck storage systems built for daily work. That means DECKED bed drawer systems, truck toolboxes and ladder racks from Weather Guard, Buyers Products, and Kargo Master, BackRack cab protectors and headache racks, and truck caps and tonneau covers from LEER, Century, and Extang.
Whether your work runs through the REO Town and Old Town shops, the South Cedar corridor, or job sites clear across Ingham County, you need to haul ladders, conduit, pipe, and lumber. So we also install van ladder racks from Kargo Master and Prime Design. Everything follows manufacturer specifications.
Fleet Upfitting for Lansing Businesses & State Government Operations
Lansing is Michigan’s state capital. That means a lot of government fleet vehicles, including State of Michigan departments, Ingham County offices, the City of Lansing, and municipal agencies that depend on properly equipped work vans and trucks every day.
Lansing is an automotive town too. GM’s Grand River and Delta Township assembly plants anchor a deep base of suppliers, logistics companies, and service contractors, all running work vehicles daily. Add the Lansing Board of Water & Light and other utility operators, healthcare systems like Sparrow Health System and McLaren Greater Lansing, ground-service fleets at Capital Region International Airport, and the regional distribution and service businesses across the metro. That’s a lot of vans and trucks that have to earn their keep.
We work directly with fleet managers and procurement teams to build every vehicle in your fleet to the same spec. The same cargo van shelving and truck storage layout goes into each one. We also install cargo ramps and safety steps where daily loading and unloading efficiency matters. Every driver knows where everything is from day one.
Serving the MSU Corridor
Just east of us, Michigan State University runs one of the largest university fleet programs in the country, and East Lansing’s contractors and businesses keep those campus operations moving. We’re the closest professional upfitter to campus. See our East Lansing upfitting page for the full picture on MSU and campus-corridor fleet work.
Cargo Van Shelving & Truck Storage Solutions for Lansing
The state government, Michigan State University, UM Health-Sparrow, and the GM plants in Delta Township and Lansing keep a lot of work vehicles on the road here. The Ford Transit is the van we upfit most. We also build out cargo van shelving and storage for Ram ProMaster and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, Chevy Express and GMC Savana, compact cargo vans, and box trucks and specialty vehicles. For pickups, bring in your Ford F-Series, Ram 2500 or 3500, or Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra, and we’ll configure the truck storage for the job.
Running a route with constant loading? Take a look at van lift gates and truck lift gates from Tommy Gate. We also fit tank racks for HVAC and utility rigs, plus van and truck accessories like LED light bars, strobe lights, backup cameras and power inverters. Our shop is on the south side of Lansing, so you can drop off and get back to work.
