Commercial Van, Truck, & Fleet Upfitting Serving Flint, MI
US Workvan has been upfitting commercial vans and work trucks for Flint-area contractors, fleet operators, and municipal organizations for over 20 years. We stock the products, we do the installs in-house, and we know what the trades and businesses of Genesee County need to stay productive. If you’re running work vehicles anywhere in the Flint market, we can build them out right, from cargo van shelving to truck storage systems.
A Truck Town We Build For
Flint is where General Motors started, and it still builds trucks. Flint Assembly turns out GM’s heavy-duty pickups, the same Silverado HD and Sierra HD rigs contractors across Genesee County put to work every day. This is a market that understands work vehicles, because it’s been building them for over a century. We bring the same seriousness to how those vehicles get outfitted once they hit the job. US Workvan is a 2026 Legend Upfit of the Year Finalist, recognition from one of the industry’s leading upfitting manufacturers. We hold that standard on every vehicle we touch, whether it’s a single service van with custom van shelving or a full county fleet.
Built for Flint’s Infrastructure & Utility Work
Flint and Genesee County have spent years rebuilding. Water service-line replacement, road and bridge projects, and ongoing utility work along the I-69 and I-475 corridors keep a steady base of utility contractors, pipefitters, and municipal crews on the road. That work runs on vehicles carrying specialized gear like fittings, fusion tools, pipe, and testing equipment. All of it has to be organized, secured, and ready at the first stop. A crew losing time in a cluttered van is a crew falling behind schedule. We build van shelving and truck storage setups that keep that from happening.
Upfitting for Flint’s Trades & Contractors
Beyond the utility work, Flint has a deep bench of electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors running vans and trucks across the county day in and day out. We build out van interiors and truck beds to match the trade. We install van interior storage systems from Adrian Steel, Ranger Design, Sortimo, and Weather Guard. That includes cargo van shelving, bins, drawer units, partitions, and pipe and PVC storage that keep parts sorted and within reach.
For truck operators, we install truck bed storage and truck storage systems built for daily work. That includes DECKED bed drawer systems, truck toolboxes and ladder racks from Weather Guard, Buyers Products, and Kargo Master, and BackRack cab protectors, plus truck caps and tonneau covers from LEER, Century, and Extang for loads that have to stay dry and locked. Hauling ladders, conduit, or pipe between job sites off Dort Highway and across the county? We fit van ladder racks from Kargo Master and Prime Design. Everything follows manufacturer specifications.
Fleet Upfitting for Flint-Area Businesses & Municipal Operations
Genesee County runs a broad base of fleet operations, and we build for all of it. That includes municipal departments and infrastructure contractors, healthcare systems like McLaren Flint and Hurley Medical Center, ground-service fleets at Bishop International Airport, and the regional distribution and service businesses that keep the metro moving. Every one of them depends on vehicles that are equipped the same way every time.
We work directly with fleet managers and procurement teams to build each unit to one shared specification. The same cargo van shelving or truck storage layout goes into every vehicle, so a driver moving between units never has to relearn it. We install cargo ramps and safety steps where daily loading and unloading is the whole job. Every driver knows where everything is from day one.
Every Work Vehicle Flint Runs
Flint Assembly builds the heavy-duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, so those trucks are a natural place to start. We install truck storage on Silverado and Sierra HD pickups along with Ford F-Series and Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. We also build out cargo van shelving for Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and Ram ProMaster vans for the trades. Compact cargo vans, box trucks, and specialty vehicles get the same custom treatment.
With hospitals, plants, and warehouses all over Genesee County, plenty of Flint-area vehicles are loading and unloading all day. That’s where Tommy Gate van lift gates and truck lift gates earn their keep. We also install tank racks for HVAC and utility rigs, and complete packages of van and truck accessories, from LED light bars and strobe lights to backup cameras and power inverters.
