Commercial Van, Truck, & Fleet Upfitting Serving Jackson, MI

US Workvan builds out commercial vans and work trucks for Jackson-area contractors, fleet operators, and institutions from our shop in Lansing, a straight 45-minute run up US-127. We stock the products, we do the installs in-house, and we know the kind of work Jackson County runs on. If you’re putting work vehicles on the road anywhere in the Jackson market, we can build them to do the job.

Built for a Utility Town

Few cities Jackson’s size carry a corporate footprint like this one. Consumers Energy and its parent CMS Energy run their headquarters out of One Energy Plaza downtown, anchoring a utility operation that keeps thousands of service vehicles, bucket trucks, and contractor fleets moving across the region.

Utility work is unforgiving on a vehicle. Meters, fittings, testing gear, and safety equipment all have to be organized, secured, and ready at the first stop, because a crew digging through a cluttered van is a crew behind schedule. We build setups that hold up to that kind of daily use, for the utility operators and the electrical, line, and infrastructure contractors who work alongside them.

Upfitting for Jackson’s Manufacturing & Industrial Base

Jackson has been a manufacturing town for over a century, and it still is. More than 200 manufacturers operate across the county, from Michigan Automotive Compressor, the county’s largest, to long-rooted names like Dawn Foods and Alro Steel, both headquartered right here.

A manufacturing base that deep runs on maintenance trucks, facilities vans, and the skilled-trades contractors who keep plants, machines, and buildings operating. We outfit those vehicles so the crews working across Jackson’s industrial corridors can carry what they need and find it fast.

Upfitting for Jackson’s Trades & Contractors

Beyond the plants, Jackson keeps a full roster of electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, pipefitters, and general contractors working residential, commercial, and industrial jobs across the county every day. We build out van interiors and truck beds to match the trade.

We install van interior storage systems from Adrian Steel, Ranger Design, Sortimo, and Weather Guard — shelving, drawer units, bin organizers, partitions, and pipe and PVC storage that keep parts sorted and within arm’s reach. For truck operators, we install DECKED bed drawer systems, truck toolboxes and ladder racks from Weather Guard, Buyers Products, and Kargo Master, and BackRack cab protectors, plus truck caps and tonneau covers from LEER, Century, and Extang for loads that have to stay dry and locked.

Hauling ladders, conduit, or pipe between job sites along Michigan Avenue or out toward the I-94 corridor? We fit van ladder racks from Kargo Master and Prime Design. Everything goes on to manufacturer specifications.

Fleet Upfitting for Jackson Businesses, Healthcare & Public Operations

Jackson is the county seat, which means a steady base of municipal and county fleet vehicles alongside state operations that run through the area. Henry Ford Allegiance Health anchors the healthcare sector with service and facilities vehicles of its own, and the distribution and service businesses working the I-94 and US-127 corridors round out a broad commercial fleet base. Every one of them depends on vehicles equipped the same way, every time. We work directly with fleet managers and procurement teams to build each unit to one shared specification, so a driver moving between vehicles never has to relearn the layout. We install cargo ramps and safety steps where daily loading and unloading is the whole job. Every driver knows where everything is from day one.

Every Work Vehicle Jackson Runs

Utility and service work runs deep here in Jackson. Heavy-duty pickups lead the way, so we upfit Ram 2500 and 3500, Ford F-Series, and Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks, along with Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and Ram ProMaster cargo vans for the trades. We also handle compact cargo vans, box trucks, and specialty vehicles that need a custom configuration.

Utility and service vehicles need to be seen and equipped for the job. We install van and truck accessories including strobe lights, LED light bars, backup cameras, and power inverters, along with tank racks for HVAC and utility rigs. If your route means heavy loading all day, look at van lift gates or truck lift gates from Tommy Gate.
