Commercial Van, Truck, & Fleet Upfitting Serving Battle Creek, MI
US Workvan builds out commercial vans and work trucks for Battle Creek-area contractors, fleet operators, and institutions from our shop in Lansing, about 50 miles northeast via I-94 and I-69. We stock the products, we do the installs in-house, and we understand the industries that drive the Battle Creek economy. If you’re running work vehicles anywhere in the Battle Creek market, we can build them to earn their keep.
Built for Cereal City’s Food Manufacturing Base
Battle Creek has made the country’s breakfast for more than a century. WK Kellogg Co, now part of the Ferrero Group and running its North American cereal operations out of downtown Battle Creek, keeps the plants and offices that made this Cereal City, and Kellanova’s snacking operation adds hundreds more jobs across town. A food-manufacturing base that size runs on far more than production lines. It runs on maintenance trucks, sanitation and facilities vans, and the skilled-trades contractors who keep plants, utilities, and buildings operating around the clock. We outfit those vehicles so the crews keeping Battle Creek’s plants running can carry what they need and lay hands on it fast.
Upfitting for Fort Custer Industrial Park & Battle Creek Manufacturing
Fort Custer Industrial Park is the largest industrial park in Michigan, home to more than 80 companies and roughly 13,000 workers spread across automotive, packaging, metal fabrication, food production, and distribution. Denso, the Japanese auto-parts maker and Calhoun County’s single largest employer, anchors a deep cluster of global manufacturers that chose Battle Creek for its rail, its I-94 access, and its Foreign-Trade Zone. Plants that size keep fleets of maintenance, facilities, and material-handling vehicles on the move every shift. We build those out for the manufacturers inside the park and the contractors who service them, with layouts that stand up to hard daily industrial use.
Upfitting for Battle Creek’s Trades & Contractors
Beyond the plants, Battle Creek keeps a full roster of electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, pipefitters, and general contractors working residential, commercial, and industrial jobs across Calhoun County every day. We build out van interiors and truck beds to match the trade. We install van interior storage systems from Adrian Steel, Ranger Design, Sortimo, and Weather Guard — shelving, drawer units, bin organizers, partitions, and pipe and PVC storage that keep parts sorted and within reach. For truck operators, we install DECKED bed drawer systems, truck toolboxes and ladder racks from Weather Guard, Buyers Products, and Kargo Master, and BackRack cab protectors, plus truck caps and tonneau covers from LEER, Century, and Extang for loads that have to stay dry and locked. Running ladders, conduit, or pipe between job sites along Dickman Road or out toward the I-94 corridor? We fit van ladder racks from Kargo Master and Prime Design. Everything goes on to manufacturer spec.
Fleet Upfitting for Battle Creek Businesses, Logistics & Public Operations
Battle Creek’s Foreign-Trade Zone and I-94 position have made it a distribution and logistics hub, and warehousing and freight operations run fleets that have to stay loaded, organized, and moving. Add the Battle Creek VA Medical Center and area healthcare operations, municipal and county departments, and the service businesses that support all of it, and you’ve got a broad commercial fleet base that depends on vehicles equipped the same way every time.
We work directly with fleet managers and procurement teams to build each unit to one shared spec, so a driver moving between vehicles never has to relearn the layout. We install cargo ramps and safety steps where daily loading and unloading is the whole job. Every driver knows where everything is from day one.
Every Work Vehicle Battle Creek Runs
Food manufacturing, automotive suppliers and aviation fill Calhoun County, from the cereal plants downtown to the Fort Custer Industrial Park and the airport. That mix means box trucks and specialty vehicles are as common as cargo vans, and we configure both. We also upfit Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ram ProMaster vans, compact cargo vans, and pickups including the Ford F-Series, Ram 2500 and 3500, and Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.
Do your trucks and vans run delivery routes? Tommy Gate van lift gates and truck lift gates take the strain out of constant loading. We also fit tank racks for HVAC and utility vehicles, and install van and truck accessories like LED light bars, strobe lights, backup cameras, and power inverters. We have the products and the experience to get it right.
Why Battle Creek Operators Come to US Workvan
We’re a Certified Adrian Steel Installer and a 2026 Legend Upfit of the Year Finalist, with over 35 years of combined experience on the team. For a Battle Creek contractor or fleet manager, the payoff is a vehicle built right the first time, whether it’s a single service van or a full plant fleet. Under an hour up I-69 gets you a shop with the inventory, the manufacturer relationships, and the installation experience to design a build, replicate it across every vehicle you run, and stand behind all of it.
